State of Being:
So there’s been some bad stuff going on for the last few days. I haven’t talked about it here at all, until now because I wanted to hear a bit more first.

My Grandmother’s in the hospital. She broke her hip in two places. They needed to operate to repair it, but the operation would have to wait until after a balloon angioplasty in Cleveland, to address a constricted heart valve, before they could chance any other kind of surgery.

The angioplasty went well, as did the hip-surgery and she’s doing fine. But, for a while it was really dicey. The hips surgery required full anesthesia, which for a woman her age, with a bad heart is very dangerous. It’s not, as many people think “sleeping.” It is, in fact a controlled coma and bringing you back out of it is tricky.

In addition to this, my father who is battling stage-4 cancer in his small bowel, was rushed to the emergency room the same day for a serious obstruction near his stomach. He can’t eat or drink anything and they’re controlling the pain with drugs, for the time being. But, he’s not out of the woods. As I understand it, they can’t operate, but they’ve seen situations like this resolve on their own before. So, that’s what we’re waiting to happen. If it doesn’t, all they’ve said is that we’ll have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

Please send as much positivity as you can our way and if you believe in God, please pray for my Dad and my Grandma. They are very important to us all.

See you tomorrow.
